Your privacy matters to us but can be confusing so this page explains how and why we use the data we collect.
We measure visitors to our website using Google Analytics and we collect anonymous statistics about your visit. This records what pages you view within our site, how you arrived at our site and some basic information about your computer. All of that information is anonymous – so we don’t know who you are; just that somebody visited our site.
The information we collect from analytics helps us understand what parts of our site are doing well, how people arrive at our site and so on. Like most websites, we use this information to make our website better.
As well as the anonymous data collected by Google Analytics, if you've logged in we obviously also know who you are and will have securely recorded your name, email address, country and password. We only use this to link your user record with the ratings you give the various entries in The Best of British Directory so we can display these and also show you your progress through the Directory.
When you log in we also offer you the option of subscribing to our newsletter. You can opt out of doings so at any time but if you have subscribed we make the promise only to communicate with you when we believe we have got something interesting to say.
