This vast national park of 800 square miles ( 2170 sq km) on the west coast of Wales is home of the tallest mountain in Wales at 3560ft (1085m), Mount Snowdon. Best known for walking and hiking, the Park also offers some of the best mountain biking in the world. One of the longest narrow gauge steam railway lines in Europe takes visitors to the top of Snowdon's peak. The glacial craggy mountains contrast with the woodland and estuaries, a naturalist's paradise. The traditional Welsh community is still dominant with strong Celtish cultural influences and the Welsh language is widely spoken.
