Nidderdale is an area of 233 square miles (600 sq km) to the south east of the Yorkshire Dales. The landscape of pastures and moorland is especially popular with walkers, cyclists and horse-riders. Visitors are drawn to the breathtaking scenery and idyllic villages and towns such as Masham and Pateley Bridge where there is a rich selection of independent pubs, restaurants, shops and many local producers of speciality food and drink produce. For history and heritage there are Abbeys to visit, and for the distinctive scenery of the area there are gorges, caves and rock formations.
