Wrightbus is a British coachbuilder based in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, established in 1946 by Robert Wright. In 1978, the company released its first aluminium-structured bus bodywork, later moving into the full size single deck market and exploiting the demand for low floors. It offered UK bus operators one of the first mainstream low-floor body/chassis combinations and they were ordered in their hundreds. The most distinctive Wrightbus product is the New Routemaster London bus, introduced in 2012. Since 2013 Wrightbus has also built its own single-decker and double decker chassis. The Wrighbus Group has successfully expanded recently into overseas markets of the Middle East and Far East.
