Steam train aficionados can now enjoy the long-awaited return into service of the legendary bright green liveried Flying Scotsman following a £4.2 million, 10-year project to restore the locomotive. It originally acquired worldwide fame when it became the first to break the 100mph mark in its 1930s heyday. Tickets are sold for specially chartered journeys on iconic lines around Britain and passengers enjoy a luxury accommodation and dining experience. When not out on the tracks, the train spends periods on display at the National Railway Museum in York and in Shildon, Country Durham.
