Warwick Castle is a medieval castle developed from an original wooden motte-and-bailey castle and rebuilt in stone in the 12th century and fortified to become one of the most recognisable examples of 14th century military architecture. Warwick Castle has been a popular tourist attraction since the 19th century Victorians visited and today it is regarded as one of Britain's best castles. There is also a very impressive collection of armoury on display. Now owned by a media company there is a year round calendar of events and attractions drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.
