The Watermill Theatre was established in 1967 in a converted watermill beside the River Lambourn in the village of Bagnor, Berkshire. It retains many of its original architectural features such as the waterwheel, wooden beams and corn chutes. Although the building dates back to 1830, it uses state of the art technology. The Watermill has built an excellent reputation worldwide for the famous actors who began their careers at the Watermill including Bill Nighy, Sean Bean and David Suchet and its notable productions, many of which have transferred to London's West End.
