The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden was originally constructed in 1732 and is the home of The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet and venue of the Laurence Olivier Awards and British Academy Film Awards events. Most of the current building other than the fascade, foyer and auditorium dates from an extensive reconstruction in the 1990s. The large main auditorium consists of four tiers of boxes and balconies and the amphitheatre gallery and the proscenium is 12.20m wide and 14.80m high. The large iron and glass structure from part of the old Covent Garden flower market is now the atrium.
