The Theatre Royal in Bath, was built in 1805 and has been described as 'one of the most important surviving examples of Georgian theatre architecture' despite major fire damage to the interior in 1862. It won a Conservation Award for recent restoration work to the main auditorium in 2010. The theatre itself is said to be haunted by several ghosts including the Grey Lady, who was an actress centuries ago. The smaller Ustinov Studio has been nominated for numerous awards for its productions and the Theatre hosts the annual Family Theatre Festival and the Shakespeare Unplugged Festival.
