Penshurst Place is a historic building near Tonbridge, Kent. The manor house, built in 1341, was once the property of King Henry VIII and is the ancestral home of the Sidney family who have been in continuous occupation for more than 460 years. The original medieval house is one of the most complete surviving examples of 14th century domestic architecture in England. Part of the house and its gardens are open for public viewing. Visitors to Penshurst can see the State Rooms, Galleries, and a toy museum. The Other Boleyn Girl and The Princess Bride were filmed here.
