Historic house Coughton Court is an English Tudor country house and garden near Studley in Warwickshire. The house has a long crenelated facade and Tudor Gatehouse dating from 1530 with hexagonal turrets and oriel windows in the English Renaissance style. Coughton has been home to the Throckmortons, one of the UK's oldest Catholic families who have lived there for 600 years. The Hall played a role in a plot of 1583 to murder Queen Elizabeth I of England and also the Gunpowder Plot of 1605. It houses one of the very best collections of portraits and memorabilia of one single Tudor family.
